DOUG YANIK, DVM
Dr. Doug Yanik is a 1980 graduate of Iowa State University and has practiced small animal clinical medicine in both Illinois and Pennsylvania.
Before joining the team at Manteno Animal Hospital, he held various positions in industry and academic veterinary medicine, including Assistant Dean for Academic & Student Affairs at the University of Illinois. Dr. Yanik comes to us from Champaign, Illinois where he resides with his wife Cheryl, their 3 daughters, 2 cats (Buddha, & Boots), and 2 golden retrievers. Dr. Yanik splits his veterinary time between Manteno Animal Hospital and our sister hospital, Hoopeston Family Pet Care.
BARB
Client Care Provider /Accounts Manager
Barb joined Manteno Animal Hospital in January of 1999.
She especially loves our Doberman patients, as she shares
her evenings with four bed hogs Hootie, Ruffie, Ceasar and her
husband Sam. Gertie and Henrie, her cats, don’t take up as
much room but do deserve an honorable mention.
Barb looks forward to spoiling your pets when
they visit as she is "Auntie Barb the treat Queen".
AMANDA
Patient Care Provider
Amanda is a recent graduate of Manteno High School and is
enrolled in the Veterinary Technician school program at
Joliet Junior College. She joined us in August 2003 and puts in lots
of hours making sure that all our critters are quite content in our
boarding and recovery areas. Amanda lives with her parents and
her little feline terror, Autumn.
OUR PUGS, Official Greeters
Always at Dr. DeYoung's side, Luke, Leia, Chewie, Floyd & Pug- Z, are regular faces at Manteno Animal Hospital. They officiate in uneaten treat clean-up, and take the prize for worst manners during nail trims. Give them a moment and they will steal your heart, your lap, and your Kleenex.
